Meet the designer

Doris Jurzak

Despite her interest in drawing and handcrafts, and fueled by a desire to afford overseas travel, Doris became a chartered accountant after leaving school. Eventually she became restless and after a quick tango with floristry and interior design, she studied Jewellery and Object Design at the Design Centre Enmore.

The Sweets Collection evolved from the desire to put a pile of PVC off-cuts from Doris’ exhibition work to good use. On a day when Doris was also revisiting some music she hadn’t listened to in a while, with the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967) playing in the background, somehow psychedelic floral garlands seemed like an inevitable outcome.
